UNGRD published a 12:31 p.m. update from the Unified Disaster Register with a 9 a.m. cut-off. Across the four departments covered — Caldas, Chocó, Risaralda and Valle del Cauca — 18,997 families and 45,060 people had been registered.
An administrative register, not the national tally
The RUD documents progress in household registration where surveying is under way. Its total must not be described as the national number of affected people: UNGRD’s national tally covers more departments and uses a different definition.
More than ten thousand homes classified
The update lists 4,443 habitable homes, 4,270 uninhabitable homes, 1,436 destroyed homes and 6,077 damaged homes. These categories describe entries in the register at the cut-off and should not be combined with other inventories without checking scope.
Registration remains in progress
The 18,997 families and 45,060 people relate only to the four named departments and the progress recorded at 9 a.m. New registrations or validation may change the total in later updates.
Coordination of search teams
In the same communication, UNGRD says search-and-rescue operations must be performed by certified teams and that its director authorises support teams. This concerns operational coordination and does not announce another rescue.
