Chilean C-130 brings aid to Pereira

A Chilean Air Force C-130 Hercules arrived in Pereira on the evening of August 15 with humanitarian supplies for people affected by the earthquake. Colombian authorities received the cargo for distribution.

A Chilean military flight

The Chilean Air Force announced the arrival at 8:39 p.m. and described about 10 tonnes of aid.

Kits and medicines

At 9:11 p.m., UNGRD detailed food kits, household and personal hygiene products for men, women and children, and medicines.

A shipment attributed to Chile’s president

UNGRD says the aid was sent by Chilean President José Antonio Kast.

Two unreconciled weights

UNGRD puts the cargo at 6.63 tonnes. The sources do not explain the difference from the Air Force’s roughly 10 tonnes.
