After visiting affected areas with the vice president, Interior Minister Rodrigo Lara issued an appeal to building-material producers on August 17.
A list of material needs
The appeal covers cement, bricks, roofing sheets, wood, steel, tools and other supplies for a donation network.

The minister says rural and Pacific communities are asking for materials. In Buenaventura he refers to stilt housing, legal security and urban planning.
