Colombia’s private sector is announcing an exceptional fundraising total for earthquake-hit regions. The amount is documented; its concrete allocation is not yet.
An exact total published at the close of the congress
At 4:31 p.m., ANDI announced that Empresas Unidas por Colombia had raised 201,637,565,026 Colombian pesos by the close of its eleventh congress. The organisation says the initiative is for affected families and regions.
A 100-billion-peso contribution attributed to the Santo Domingo family
EL PAÍS reports that the Santo Domingo family contributed 100 billion pesos and that Bruce Mac Master announced the total during the Cartagena congress. This contribution is a press report, separate from the overall figure published directly by ANDI.
Raised does not mean distributed
Neither ANDI’s announcement nor the consulted article provides a territorial breakdown, allocation mechanism, disbursement timetable or evidence of delivery to families. The sum must therefore be described as raised, not as already distributed.
